NEW HIGHTAIL TO ALE UPDATE. PLEAE READ.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding in these uncertain times. We have been trying tirelessly to reschedule a date for the Hightail to Ale. Unfortunately with the uncertain times and unknown dates of when gatherings of what size will be allowed, we have had to move on from rescheduling an onsite event.
We want you all to have the opportunity to keep the streak alive! The Hightail to Ale 2020 will be going virtual and you will still be getting some of the sweet swag!. That means that anyone who was previously registered will be transferred to the virtual event. We will be mailing out shirts and medals. You will be e-mailed a website to enter in your time and a link to a facebook group to celebrate with others! Although we can't gather at this time we can all raise a glass and cheers to the future when we can meet again.
This event is always a special day for us and we have been proud to host on the Detroit Riverfront where over $35,000 from the race has been donated back to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.
You have some options regarding your 2020 entry:
If you would like to defer your entry, donate your food money, or donate your entry please make those changes HERE. If you want to participate virtually no other action is required of you.
We are trying to make the best of this situation and hope you understand. We will party again one day!
Stay safe out there,
The Thirsty 3 Crew
Why can't you postpone? - To date, we have canceled or postponed 10 events. This event in particular has a mounting list of roadblocks in an already heavy schedule for Detroit. We are digging ourselves into a hole that will take us an extended amount of time to dig out of. At this point we have hit the wall and our options are limited.
Why can't you offer a full refund? - We know what a delicate subject money is at this time, and we are attempting to be as transparent as possible in regards to why we are unable to offer a refund. A large majority of the planning and man hours go into the event well before race day; we spend a large portion of the projected income in setting up the event prior to registration opening, When our world was turned upside down from COVID-19, entry money came to a standstill. We are unable to provide a refund because the money is simply not there.
What if I was registered for the series, will I still be a series finisher if I participate virtually? - Yup!
If you would like to discuss this with us further we are here for you and available to talk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
